KIPD Launches National Policy Research Initiative to Strengthen Evidence-Based Governance

The Kenadid Institute for Policy & Development (KIPD) has officially launched a National Policy Research Initiative aimed at strengthening evidence-based governance and public policy decision-making across Somalia.

The initiative seeks to bridge the gap between research, policymaking, and implementation by generating actionable knowledge that supports government institutions, development partners, academia, and civil society organizations. Through a series of policy studies, stakeholder consultations, and strategic dialogues, the program will provide practical recommendations to address governance challenges and improve public service delivery.

Speaking during the launch event in Garowe, KIPD leadership emphasized the importance of research-driven solutions in fostering sustainable development and institutional resilience. The initiative will focus on governance reform, economic development, youth engagement, climate resilience, and social cohesion.

The program is expected to contribute to stronger institutions, increased accountability, and more effective policy interventions that respond to the needs of Somali communities.
